According to the Concept of Global Approach to the Nose, nasal procedures (rhinoplasty, septoplasty, turbinate reduction and endoscopic nasal surgery) can, and should, be combined when indicated.
For example, in a patient with persistent symptoms of rhinitis or sinusitis that do not respond to medical treatment, and who is also dissatisfied with the shape of the nose, both the functional and aesthetic components can be addressed simultaneously.
Treating the functional aspects of the nose significantly improves quality of life after surgery, while addressing the aesthetic component allows the nose to be reshaped in harmony and balance with the rest of the face.
The nose is a complex organ with several important functions and should therefore be approached comprehensively, addressing both its functional and aesthetic aspects.
