The paranasal sinuses are air-filled cavities located around the nose which, when inflamed, lead to a condition known as sinusitis (or rhinosinusitis).
Sinusitis affects a huge number of people worldwide, having a major impact on quality of life. It is characterized by nasal obstruction, increased nasal secretions, decreased sense of smell, and sinus pain/headaches. When it becomes chronic and when medication is insufficient, a surgical solution is necessary: endoscopic nasal surgery.
Endoscopic nasal surgery is a minimally invasive procedure with a high success rate in the treatment of sinusitis. It is performed entirely through the natural openings of the nose, leaving no visible scars.
The postoperative period is typically comfortable, with a smooth and rapid recovery.
When performed by an experienced surgeon, it is a safe procedure that can lead to a significant improvement in quality of life.

As the nose is a structure that should always be assessed as a whole, it may be necessary to simultaneously treat a deviated nasal septum and/or reduce the size of the turbinates (structures located along the walls of the nasal cavities, composed of bone and mucosa, which may be enlarged in cases of rhinitis).
A rhinoplasty can be performed during the same procedure, combining functional improvement with aesthetic enhancement of the nose.
